If you often feel cold, a coat or a cardigan can increase the perceived temperature by about 2 degrees and in so doing adjust your “built-in thermostat”. If you stand and work instead, you can increase your body temperature by two additional degrees. How is your level of daily fitness? If you have eaten and slept poorly, you will experience your surroundings as being one degree colder than you would if you were alert and full of energy! Also make sure that there are some throws in the work place in case it is cold and try using these before turning up the thermostat. If you sweat a lot during the summer, thinner garments and natural materials are a good alternative for maintaining a comfortable body temperature. Also make sure that heat sources are turned off and use an awning, blinds or solar films to reduce solar irradiation.
